Architect in the Process

Culture & HIstory
Project 1 ~ Online Forum
This subject had been a group work since the first class and the first ever assignment is an online forum discussion. Everyone in the team was to choose a question from those below and to discuss it in the forum provided. As my group wanted to do it fair, we had a random pick to see which questions get distributed to whom.
1. Who is the architect or founder of the building?
2. Where and when was the building built?
3. What is the form, or shape of the building?
4. What is the function or purpose of the building?
5. What materials / methods are used for construction?
My given question was the fifth and I have to say that it is quite easy as the materials and methods of construction was easy to find especially from text books or from the internet.
Project 2 ~ Analysis Presentation Board
The second project also requires us to choose one out of five questions where we also had a random pick. The questionsons are as follows,
1. Concept and Architecture analysis (i. Architect and/or Building concepts, ii.
Architecture/Style)
2. Building massing analysis (i. Material and Structure, ii. Geometry iii. Unit to Whole)
3. Circulation Analysis (i. Circulation to Use-Space, ii. Natural ventilation)
4. Spatial Organization analysis (i. Spatial planning & Siting, ii. Building sequence and
process, iii. Public vs. private, iv. Axes, v. Symmetry & balance, vii. Repetitive to unique,
viii. Additive and subtractive, ix. Hierarchy)
5. Building plan-section/elevation analysis (i. Plan to Section or Elevation, ii. Natural light penetration)
As for this, my question was number 3 and I have to do a lot of research compared to the first project. The circulation of space is fairly hard to find as the building is rather old. Not to metion the natural ventilations itself. However with much work lurking in the library and the web, I have found sufficient information for my board.
Project 3 ~ 3D Abstract Model
The final project for this was in my opinion one of my best and also the most challenging one. Me and my teammates had to stay awake for countless nights just to get the measurements right and the model looking the way we want it to be. The primary requirement of this model was to be made completely out of balsa wood.
