My group and I have chosen to contribute our community service to Lost Animal Soul Shelter (LASS). We attended workshops held by LASS and were exposed to various sorts of activities. The important part of the visits are to let us get close to the dogs there. Many of them which are abandoned, abused, injured and weak. The coordinator there also helped us out a lot to help us communicate with the dogs which are scarred in many ways. With that, we worked together with LASS in order to see this project through.

The first visit was rather short as we helped them to move bricks for them to construct the dog shelter. It was done very quickly as we have quite the number of students. Later on, we were given dog food so that we can feed the hungry dogs. It was really refreshing to see these hurt dogs open up to us albeit slightly.

In the second workshop, we were divided into two groups; one incharge of showering the dogs and the other cleaning the dog shelter. Me and my group are in the latter and worked really hard to make sure the shelter is clean. When we were done, we also had another session to play around with the dogs. And that concludes the workshops held there where we move on to the next stage.

The next project would be a fundraising project to help LASS build a quarantine room in order to keep their healthy dogs apart from those which are sick. The cost needed for such a room amounts up to a whooping RM7000 and we came up with a few methods of sale. We had artist Hanzhen Gallery to design bags for us, Kenneth & Daniel to create badges and LASS' own shirts.

To sell our products, we used several methods where we get booths to sell our products, walk around campus, implore our friends and family and even creating an online store. Throughout our entire sales, it was really heartwarming when people really contributed to a great cause and even cheered us on. Although we couldnt achieve what LASS wanted, they were satisfied with us just contributing and promoting awareness.
